Committee Volunteers Needed

A new fiscal year begins on July 1, and this means some volunteer boards have seats that will become available.  If you are interested in serving on a committee, please visit Town Hall or contact Rosemary Johnson (townclerk@townofbelhaven.com) to get an application.

Human Relations Commission: 5 seats open
It is the policy of the Town to ensure for all individuals within the Town freedom from discrimination because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age or handicap. The HRC is created to encourage fair treatment and mutual understanding among all racial and ethnic groups within the jurisdiction of the Town.

Recreation & Parks Commission: 6 seats open
The Parks and Recreation Commission shall serve as the advisory body for the department of recreation of the Town. The Commission shall suggest policies to the department, the Manager and the Board of Aldermen, within its powers and responsibilities as stated in the Code of Ordinances. The Commission shall serve as a liaison between the department, the Manager and the Council in matters affecting recreation policies, programs and the acquisition and disposal of lands and properties related to the total community recreation program, and to its long-range projected program for recreation.
