NOTICE OF EVIDENTIARY HEARING
The Belhaven Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing on November 30, 2023 at 5PM at the Belhaven Civic Center at 257 W. Pungo Street on the following request:
Case Fedrick Special Use Request – Short Term Rental £Variance xSpecial Use Request
Request: Approval of Special Use of Short Term Rental for Property in Residential (R5) Zoning District
The subject site is located at 695 E. Main Street, Belhaven, REID: # 29684
This letter is to notify interested parties that a special use request has been received for the above mentioned property located in the Residential (R5) Zoning District.
The R5 Zoning District is established as a district in which the principal use of land is for single-family residence. The regulations of this district are intended to discourage any use which, because of its character, would interfere with the development of single-family residency in the district and which would be detrimental to the quiet residential nature of the areas included within this district.
The owner has requested Special Use of Short Term Rental, which is a use identified as a special use in the Town’s Code of Ordinances. Regulation of short term rentals are also listed in the Code of Ordinance.
