Position: Custodian/Maintenance Worker
Closing Date: Open Until Filled
Hours of Operation: 7: 00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday-Friday Permanent Position: Hourly Rate: $10-$12.25 per hour depending upon qualifications
Description of Duties
Performs general housekeeping work in public buildings. Work includes typical housekeeping duties in cleaning bathrooms, offices, hallways, kitchens, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash, etc. Additional duties may include preparation of meeting spaces and routine maintenance (filters, light bulbs).
Minimum Education and Knowledge Required
High School diploma or GED required. Must have a valid N.C Driver license and good work ethic. Pre-employment drug screening required.
General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment, routine maintenance requirements of buildings and general grounds maintenance, and equipment used. Skill in customer service excellence. Ability to keep simple records of work activities. Ability to identify cleaning needs and resolve with appropriate methods and supplies. Ability to perform manual labor requiring continuous physical effort. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with peers, supervisor, and the general public. Ability to set priorities, work unsupervised and productively and meet deadlines.
